3 Questions To Ask Your Dentist

Jul 28 • 1 minute read

When visiting a new dentist, your consultative visit is one of the most important. This introductory appointment allows you and your dentist as well as their team to get to know one another. It also gives you the opportunity to ask questions vital to your treatment plan and overall dental health. Do you know which important questions to ask your dentist?

Here are three questions to ask at your next dental appointment:

“Does it look like I am grinding my teeth at night?” – Many of us do not realize that we grind our teeth at night. If you are experiencing headaches or frequent popping of the jaw, you are likely grinding your teeth. Your dentist will also notice micro-cracks in the teeth, which are also a sign.

“What are the signs and symptoms of oral cancer?” – As part of your evaluation, your dentist will check for signs of oral cancer. This is also something you can do at home in between visits. Be sure that your dentist explains what to look out for as well as when to seek medical treatment.

“What are the best oral hygiene products for me?” – Everyone’s oral health is unique, which means your dental routine is also unique. If you are experiencing tooth sensitivity, unusually foul breath, or have hard to reach places due to misaligned teeth, your dentist can recommend just the right product for you!
